Thank You for Your Order!
Thank you so much for placing your chicken, turkey and/or meat share orders for the 2019 season with Sap Bush Hollow Farm. Here are some important things to remember:
For chickens and turkeys:
- Please take some time now to add the pick-up dates you’ve selected to your calendar. We will post the date and time for each month’s sale in our weekly email newsletter and on our website, but it is up to you to remember the specific dates for which you’ve pre-ordered. That said, if you forget, please feel free to call, and we will happily look it up for you.
- Chickens and turkeys will be freshly processed, freezer-bagged and stored at 32 degrees until your pick-up. That means they will be both oven-ready and freezer-ready when you pick them up. It is your responsibility to bring proper containers to transport them home. Many of our customers have special designated insulated reusable “meat bags” that they use for this purpose. We encourage you to find one, and keep it in your car for when you come to see us. If you have a long drive, you might consider bringing an ice pack (or buying some frozen meat while at the farm, to pack with the fresh poultry to keep it cold).
- To avoid a $5 per bird storage fee, please notify us in advance if you are unable to make your scheduled pick up, so that we can arrange an alternate time that works for all of us.
- At the beginning of November, we will begin accepting appointments for turkey pick-ups. In order to make sure we have your bird ready for you at the cafe, you will be asked to give us a specific time for either November 23, 24, or 25, from 9-1. If you cannot make any of these dates and times, please plan to have someone come on your behalf, as the cafe and farm store will be closed for the remainder of that week.
For Lamb and Pork shares:
- As soon as we have come through our spring lambing and farrow season, we will mail you an invoice for the second payment on your share(s). After Labor Day, we will send you the final invoice. In order to keep the costs of the meat down, we can only accept cash or checks for the second payments and final invoices.
- While a few shares may be ready before Christmas, most will be ready after the first of the year. We will reach out to you to schedule pick-up at that time. If you aren’t able to make it to the cafe for pick-up during our normal hours, we will set up a self-serve pick up for you.
Thank you so much for supporting our farm. Our customers are like family to us, and it means a great deal that you continue to come see us over the season and through the years. Happy spring!
Fondly,
Adele, Jim, Bob, Shannon, Saoirse and Ula
