For two years we’ve whispered with you about it. You’ve urged us to give it a try. So here goes…For this Saturday and the next (Dec 8 and 15), Sap Bush Cafe will have extended hours. We’ll have breakfast & brunch available 9-1, coffee and desserts from 1-5, and from 5-8 we’ll be offering our Hearthside special, plus burgers and ….yes….BEER!!!! (Beer will be available starting at noon).
Justin Behan, head brewer of Green Wolf Brewing Company from Middleburgh will ascend the mountain for these two Saturdays, set up a few taps of his favorite brews, bring along some other hearty local libations (including West Fulton’s own Scrumpy Ewe cider), and Bob and I will hang out in the back flipping some yummy Sap Bush grassfed burgers. And, if I can get ’em down right, fries. Made with Barbers’ potatoes. And fried in our own pastured pork lard. (Admittedly, that final menu item is conditional on a bit more trial and error this week!). Who’da thunk “you want fries with that” would be such a challenge??
Meanwhile, we’ve got even more going on in West Fulton:
Scrumpy Ewe Cider tasting room will be open from 12-5
And Panther Creek Arts on the corner will be hosting a holiday gift market from 11-3, where our local artists and craftspeople will emerge from their hillside hideaways to showcase their wares.
And if all that hustle and bustle gets to be too much, leave your car and take to the hills! The Long Path trailhead is just up the street from the cafe. You can come for breakfast, shop, play, hike then return to the warmth of our fire for hearty fare and good conversation.
All right here…In West Fulton!
And now, for the unveiling of the Hearthside special menu for this glorious day…
